Police:

The Yellowhead RCMP Detachment serves the area. It's head office is located in the town of Shoal Lake (about 30 kms. or 20 miles west of Newdale and 35 kms. or 22 miles south west of Sandy Lake).

Fire Protection:

The R.M. of Harrison has a volunteer fire department. Les Lewandoski is Fire Chief. Station #1 – Newdale and Station #2 – Sandy Lake each have approx. 15 to 20 members.
